Community Guest Day
Welcome and thank you for coming to Shiloh Seventh-Day Adventist Church. Each year, on our community guest day we honor individuals who provide services to residents within or near the surrounding church community. This year's honorees were:
Love Neighborhood Association
The Love Neighborhood Association is a community based neighborhood association formed to rid the neighborhood of high crime rates, poor health, and poverty and to show the community that there are people that care about them and want them to feel empowered.
Our Kids Program
The O.K. Program is a law-enforcement-based mentoring program that fosters partnerships between police agencies, schools, community members and the faith-based community to provide guidance and support to young African-American males. It is designed around a high school and the local middle school(s) that feed into it. Hall High School and Forest Heights Middle School are included in this phase of implementation. Central High School and Dunbar Magnet Middle School were the first schools to participate in the program in 2007, and other schools will follow in the future. Founded in 1990 in Rancho Cordova, California, the O.K. Program now has its national headquarters on the campus of Arkansas Baptist College in Little Rock.
Watershed Human & Community Development Agency. The Watershed provides food, clothing and toys to the poor of Little Rock. Last year alone they fed over Their mission is, "feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, housing the homeless, cheering the fallen, providing jobs for the jobless, administering to those in crisis and encouraging economic development and self-sufficiency."
In addition to community honorees, Shiloh would like to thank church members for outstanding and dedicated service to the adult and children’s Sabbath school ministries. Gwen Brown and Alfred Hampton. They are both outstanding residents of Little Rock and provide consistent and dedicated service to our church community.
